Dr Vishvesh Agarwal is a Vitreoretina Surgeon currently practising in various multispeciality hospitals in Pune. He specialises in diagnosis and management of various vitreoretina and medical retina disorders including Rhegmatogenous retinal detachments, Diabetic retinal detachment, vitreous hemorrhage, Pediatric retinal disorders and detachments, Diabetic Macular edema, Vein occlusions, Retinal lasers- Diabetic, Barrage as well as Pediatric retinal lasers, Intravitreal injections as well as Retinopathy of Prematurity.

 

Right since early childhood he has been academically inclined having won multiple awards both in school and junior college, including multiple scholarships some of which are :

1.Meherbhai K.Adranwala Prize at St. Vincent’s Junior College in September 2003

2.Keki Karbhari Scholarship at St. Vincent’s Junior College in September 2003

3.Father Hahn Scholarship 

4.Mr. & Mrs. Adhiya Scholarship at St. Vincent’s Junior College in September 2004

5.David Solomon Trophy at St. Vincent’s Junior College in September 2004

6.He stood first in standard 12th Board exams in St Vincents Junior College as well as 14th in overall Pune Merit List.

 

After that he did his MBBS from MIMER Medical College with distinctions in multiple subjects as well as awards in the subjects of ENT and Obs & Gynaecology. After that he completed his MS Ophthalmology from SN Medical College Agra where again he was awarded the best outgoing resident, the best student and Gold Medal from the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, a feat which gave him the first gold medal from the University in 15 years.

 

Thereafter he joined Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai , India's Premier Eye Institute for Vitreoretina Surgery and research fellowship. There he was awarded the Swarnalata Punshi Best research fellow award as well. He was trained in retina surgery by multiple retina surgeons at Sankara Nethralaya and his Mentor was the legendary Dr Lingam Gopal.

 

Thereafter upon returning back to his hometown , Pune he worked as VitreoRetina Consultant at HV Desai Eye Hospital, Hadapsar for 1.5 years.

Since leaving HV Desai, he has been practising at various multispeciality hospitals in Pune.
